Privacy Policy

Bước Theo Chân Chúa is a mobile application for church attendance tracking and community gamification. For privacy inquiries, contact us at pcngocthach@gmail.com.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the App.

Account information

• Full name and email address (provided during registration)
• Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash; we cannot read it
• Profile picture (optional, uploaded by you)

Location data

• Your GPS coordinates are accessed only at the moment you trigger a check-in.
• We store the fact that a check-in occurred at a given church at a given time — not your continuous location history.
• Location is never accessed in the background.

Activity data

• Attendance history (church, date, and time of each check-in)
• Points earned, missions completed, achievements unlocked, streak records
• Leaderboard ranking (derived from the above)

Technical data

• Device type and OS version (for crash diagnosis only)
• App version and session timestamps

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with:

• Church administrators — Your name and attendance records are visible to administrators of churches you check in to.
• Other users (leaderboard) — Your display name and points rank are visible on the public leaderboard.
• Cloud infrastructure — Our servers are hosted on a cloud provider; data is processed within their secure environment and never re-sold.
• Legal obligation — We may disclose data when required by law or to protect user safety.

• Account and activity data is retained while your account is active.
• After account deletion, personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g., total check-ins per church) may be retained indefinitely for operational purposes.

• All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
• Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes — unreadable by our team.
• Authentication uses short-lived JWT tokens.
• Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

Bước Theo Chân Chúa is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly.

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — Update inaccurate information in your profile.
• Deletion — Delete your account via App Settings → Delete Account; personal data erased within 30 days.
• Objection — Opt out of the public leaderboard; this removes your name from community rankings.
• Portability — Request a machine-readable export of your attendance history.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the App or email. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
